The School Nurse is responsible for providing health services to students and staff, promoting a healthy school environment, and supporting the overall educational process by ensuring the well-being of students. The nurse will manage student health records, provide emergency care, administer medications, and collaborate with school staff and families to support student health needs.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide direct healthcare services to students and staff (e.g., first aid, emergency care, chronic condition management).
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Maintain accurate health records and documentation according to school and legal guidelines.
Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.) and immunization compliance checks.
Monitor and manage contagious illnesses and communicate with public health authorities as needed.
Develop individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions.
Promote health education and wellness within the school community.
Serve as a liaison between school personnel, families, and healthcare providers.
Participate in the development of school health policies and emergency response plans.
Maintain confidentiality of student health information in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Previous experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Working Conditions:
School-based setting with standard school hours.
May require occasional evening or weekend work for school events.
Must be able to respond quickly to health emergencies on campus.
